Representative transactions include:

  • Providing advice to FirstRand Bank Ltd (First National Bank Zambia Ltd) in the advancement of a US$ 14 million loan facility to Metalco Industries Company Limited.
  • Advising Trinity International LLP in the provision of a US$ 57 million exchangeable bond to Standard Chartered Bank.
  • Acting as local counsel for the lender in arranging a USD128 million syndicated facility to MTN Zambia
  • Acting as local counsel in the USD120 million secured refinancing of Zambia’s largest sugar producer
  • Acting as local counsel in the USD155 million financing of the leveraged buyout of BP’s Africa assets
  • Acting as lead counsel for IFC in the USD10 million collateralized financing for Zambeef Plc
  • Acting for Citibank Zambia Plc in the USD10 million secured financing for Copperbelt Energy Corporation
  • Acting as local counsel in the USD425 million secured refinancing of Lumwana Mining Company
