SHEMANE AMIN | Director

Background

Shemane Amin is a Director A&K Tanzania. She is responsible for managing the firm’s client experience and oversees operations to ensure ALN standards and operational requirements are met.

Shemane started her legal career in the United States, where she worked for Brown Rudnick LLP. After moving to Tanzania, she worked with ATZ Law Chambers briefly and then proceeded to expand her commercial and operational experience by taking an in-house position as a Corporate Advisor to Mohammed Enterprises Tanzania Limited (MeTL). In that role, she managed complex corporate transactions across the MeTL group while navigating the challenges of the local business environment.

Prior to joining A&K Tanzania, Shemane held a dual management role at Philip Morris Tanzania, where she was Manager of Corporate Affairs and Manager of Commercial, Strategy & Planning. On the Corporate Affairs front, she created access and engagement across various government layers, up to a parliamentary level, to present the company’s proposals on product taxation for future budget cycles. In tandem, she successfully managed the field sales force during one of the company’s toughest financial years.

Shemane is a graduate of Boston University School of Law where she graduated as a Juris Doctor and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University where she received a full scholarship under the Robertson Scholars Program.
