On the 21-22nd October 2015, ALN, together with Anjarwalla, Collins & Haidermota (ALN’s regional office in UAE), hosted a conference entitled Africa: Bridging the Gulf at the Park Hyatt Dubai.
The aim of the event was to bring together over 400+ of ALN’s client base, together with its members, to discuss what sectors and regions in Africa provide the greatest opportunities for foreign investors, while analysing the legal and regulatory implications. The conference, once again, achieved its goal of bringing together business leaders, decision makers, and strategic advisors from Africa and beyond, attracting well over 400 delegates, and dignitaries from different countries.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development presided over the conference as the Chief Guest and was joined by a delegation of senior officials from the Judiciary of Zambia, led by the Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Madam Irene Mambilima, Kenya’s Solicitor General, Mr. Njee Muturi, as well as well-known business leaders across Africa and other parts of the world.
At the two-day conference, participants, drawn from different industries gave their insights on sectors such as Energy, Banking & Finance, Oil & Gas, Commercial property, Hospitality, Private Equity and Commercial Property on the African continent. Leading business leaders and professionals, with deep experience of working in Africa, engaged in panel discussions and shared their collective and candid insights on the various challenges, opportunities, rewards and risks.
