The IFLR awards celebrate legal innovation in cross-border transactions.

ALN has received the “Africa Legal Network of the Year” award at the inaugural IFLR Sub-Saharan Africa Awards 2020, which were announced virtually on 10 September, in recognition of its legal innovation in cross-border transactions. In addition to its list of achievements, ALN member firms Anjarwalla & Khanna (Kenya), BLC Roberts & Associates (Mauritius), K-Solutions & Partners (Rwanda) and Musa Dudhia & Co. (Zambia) won the “Law Firm of the Year” award for their impressive track records in providing local law advice on the most innovative deals in their respective countries between May 2019 and May 2020.

Five other ALN member firms also made the Law Firm of the Year award shortlist: SD Advocats (Guinea), ABCC (Mozambique), G. Elias & Co. (Nigeria), A&K Tanzania (Tanzania), and MMAKS Advocates (Uganda).

The ALN fraternity celebrates these great achievements which add further impetus to our commitment to uphold the highest standards, to integrate our service offerings and catalyse our efforts of becoming the leading provider of integrated legal services to clients investing in or financing investments in Africa,” said ALN Kenya Managing Partner Karim Anjarwalla.

The IFLR awards exclusively focus on exceptional transactions from within the legal community that break ground with new legal structures, set market precedents by overcoming new regulatory hurdles or have become regional firsts for adapting existing technology to local regulation.
